Hello from your host

Hi, my name is Jay Haimowitz and I currently live in Nagoya, Japan. I first came to Japan in 1991., and have lived here on and off over the years. I am originally from the US and in my “day job” I travel frequently. I have been married to Miki since 1998 and we have one daughter, Lisa.

So why am I here?

Over the years I have lived in many places, and as I looked back it occurred to me that I have been gradually assimilating to Japanese culture and Life in Japan. It’s been a journey – exciting at times, terrifying at others… but worth it every step of the way. I decided to put this blog together to help others (and myself) with their transition to Japan.
